What We Collect

Kvar is designed to minimize data collection. We only collect what is necessary for the marketplace to function:

  • Account data: GitHub ID, email (for login), display name
  • Event data: Impression type, timestamp, visibility duration, focus status
  • Stack tags: Coarse language/framework tags detected from workspace (never file contents, paths, or code)
  • Device data: IDE type, extension version, last seen time

What We Do NOT Collect

  • Your code: We never read, transmit, or store your source code
  • Your prompts: We never read, transmit, or store your AI prompts
  • File paths: We never send file names or paths
  • Workspace contents: We only detect presence of lockfiles for coarse stack tagging
  • Keystrokes: We never track keystrokes or input
  • Screen captures: We never capture or transmit screenshots

The telemetry schema is structurally incapable of carrying code or prompts.

How We Use Data

  • • Match relevant ads to your stack (e.g., show Postgres hosting to Postgres users)
  • • Calculate and pay your earnings
  • • Prevent fraud and verify impressions
  • • Improve the auction and targeting quality

Your Rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. You can export your local transparency log to see exactly what was sent. You can opt out of stack detection and manually select your targeting tags.
